Vorarlberg green electricity, for example, consists of 100% energy from hydropower, photovoltaics and biogas. No direct CO2 emissions are caused in the production of green electricity. In addition, the purchase of green electricity supports the regional economy and creates sustainable jobs.

After avoiding and saving CO2e emissions as much as possible, offsetting is the last step in corporate climate protection. Unlike avoidance and reduction, offsetting does not avoid emissions in the company’s own area of influence, but offsets them by supporting external climate protection projects. In our projects, the focus is on the quality and meaningfulness of the climate protection measures. Our criterion for climate protection projects is that, in addition to verifiable emissions reductions, a contribution is always made to sustainable development and to improving the quality of life and the environment. This is the reason for the comparatively higher prices of our climate protection projects. However, we are consciously trying to prevent our partners from offsetting all emissions through questionable low-cost projects. The focus should deliberately remain on reducing the company’s own negative impact on the climate, environment and society.
